Inters lose on the road

Our intermediates lost out to Gusserane on a windy Sunday afternoon. After a bright start we were leading 2 points to no score after 5 minutes when unfortunately a mistake lead to a home side goal. Ollie had a goal shot saved two minutes later before the wind assisted Gusserane scored 12 points in a row before Pad had us back on the scoreboard with a free on the 19th minute. The same player nearly goaled from the resulting puc out when he broke through only for the keeper to save well. Credit to the lads, we came back into the game strongly, scoring 5 in a row to reduce the defect to 7 points at the break.

With the wind at our backs, we started to gain in on the lead with Pad frees, Seanie P and a magnificent Ollie score from midfield after a fine catch. It was back to 2 points with 15 minutes to go but we failed to get any closer and the men in yellow won by four in the end. Its football next with Junior B Championship Friday night this weekend with the last league game on Sunday for the juniors before the intermediate hurlers finish off their league campaign at home to HWH Bunclody on the 28th May.

Scorers: Pad 0-9, 0-8 frees, Ollie 0-2, Dean 0-2, Seanie 0-1, Mick 0-1
