Junior B’s march on to semi’s

Blackwater 2-19 v 0-09 Borris-In-Ossory/Kilcotton (Laois)

The Junior B train continued on as they enjoyed a good victory over the Laois outfit than the a storming first 15 minutes. Denis O’Brien has 2-1 from play in the first half putting in a man of the match performance. Blackwater were 7 points to 1 up before the first goal arrived, a difficult high ball into the area for the Kilcotton goalie was knocked down and the full forward made no mistake to pull to the net on a difficult surface. The second arrived a few minutes later, our pacy wing forward Conor Sutton burst through and made an overlap, handpassing to a free Din Brien who again drove to the net. Further points arrived from Din Carroll a frees from Din Brien had us leading by 17 at the turn with our lads facing into a strong wind.

To their credit Kilcotton didnt give up and started to find their range staying in touch with some find scores. Our lads found it hard to score from play with Dinny frees keeping the scoreboard ticking over with a number of substitute changes probably ruining the flow of the game. The lads that came in didnt weaken the team showing they the B team have great squad depth. Other notable performances were Brian Dooley at centre back and Denis Carroll at centre forward. They face Carrig-Riverstown next Saturday at 12pm again in Killeedy, Limerick.
