6 goals for U15s
Blackwater 6-10 v 4-06 Rapparees
10 goals in all in this last round must win game of the group in a sunny Blackwater on Thursday evening.
it was Rapps who started the better leading by 1-02 to 2 points after 8 minutes but our lads started to grow into the game with Aidan Malanowski pulling on the ground to goal to have us just a point behind on 9. Further points from Ciaran Cash and Joe Rossiter had us leading the way before a brilliant goal by Ciaran Byrne, lifting and pulling first time to the net. Rapps were reduced to 14 men before Ciaran Cash goaled after a nice run, and they were then reduced to 13 players before half time. Byrne netted just before the turn for us to lead by 9.
The second half was played at a slower pace with Denis Dempsey and Jimmy Whelan getting further goals to finish out the match. Score difference matters and this good win sees the lads through to a quarter final by having a better score difference than Rapps (-56) and Davidstown (+2), us (+10).
Ciaran Cash 1-6, 0-4 free, Ciaran Byrne 2-1, Aidan Malanowsi 1-0, Denis Dempsey 1-0, Jimmy Whelan 1-0, Joe Rossiter 0-2, Adam O’Connor 0-1.
