Junior B hurlers lose last round
Hard luck to the Junior B hurlers who lost in the last round of the group stage to St. Annes. The lads were leading going into injury time but St. Annes managed to squeeze through a goal to win the game. Our lads were behind by 2 at the break , with our first half goal scored by James Dooley, a rasper into the top corner.
The game was a very even contest throughout and we were even three points ahead at one stage in the second half. While Annes brought it back level, we scored two late points to lead until the late Annes goal. Our lads were already though to the semi final stage and have been provisionally fixed to play on Monday 19th against St. Martins. The Annes will play the Shelmaliers.
Scorers: Wayne 0-14 (11 from frees), James Dooley 1-1, Pad O’Connor 0-1, Robert McGuinness 0-1, Denis Carroll 0-1, Lar Lacey 0-1.
