Inters finish strong

Blackwater 3-16 v 1-17 HWH Bunclody

Our intermediate hurlers finished the league campaign with a victory and in the process finishing second in the table. While it was slightly windy, its was a good evening for hurling in a high scoring affair.

Our lads raced out of the blocks, with Mossy goaling twice in the space of two minutes, with only six minutes elapsed on the clock., He was unlucky not to goal in the 7tth minute when a late pull on him going through resulted in a yellow card for the full back. HWH responded well to the early set back scoring 1-5 without reply including a penalty hit well to the top corner. Mossy though had his hat-trick, with only 15 minutes gone to leave us in front by a point bursting through again and finishing low to the net, The game was nip and tuck for the remainder of the half with some nice scores including a Ciaran Cash one off his left from a difficult angle, we trailed by one at the turn.

Seamus had us level again in the first minute and we were finally in front after 7 when Paul got his first of the day. Further scores followed and it was out to 5 with 10 minutes left, with Seanie P and Ciaran frees keeping us ticking over nicely. We held HWH out well to hold on in the end of the victory.
