Blackwater 0-25 v 0-15 Fethard

Our intermediate hurlers put in an excellent performance on a sunny Blackwater pitch. Long striking was the order of the day with Mick, Ben, Dean and Topar all scoring points from long distance. The boys really set the tone early one leading by 6 with just 18 minutes gone. The backs were really on top with Ben leading the way at centre back along with Alan and Diarmuid putting in strong performances throughout the match.

The boys led by 7 at the break and continued where they left off three Pad frees putting us 10 in front. A lovely move from Oge to Paul to Mick resulted in a nice score. Ollie was unlucky not to goal when indecision From the Fethard goalie resulted in Murphy ghosting in but his ground pull acognisinly hit the post. On 12 minutes, Ollies brother Mossy also nearly goaled flicking over the bar. We continued taking our chances and finished strong to win by 10 in the end.

Ben, (0-1) Mick (0-4), topar (0-1) , pad (0-8 0-6 free), Mossy (0-3), og (0-2), Dean (0-2), Paul (0-1) Ollie (0-3)

Na Fianna 0-20 v 1-12 Blackwater

Our third team started out the championship with a defeat in Coolcotts. Unfortunately a number of late withdrawls left the team thin but the boys battled hard leading with 17 gone Ciaran Cash making his adult championship debut goaling from a free. Clonard though finished the stronger and were leading at half time. Our boys were always chasing the game and couldnt seem to get back level. Lar Lacey continued his goalkeeping exploits pulling off an outstanding save. Unfortunately we couldnt het back level losing by 5 end. Next up is a game at home v St. Martins on April 29th.

Wayne (0-4, 0-1 free), Ciaran (1-5, 1-3 free), Gavin O’ Toole 0-2).
