Strong second half for B’s
St. Brigids Blackwater 3-13 v 0-12 Fethard
A strong second half performance saw a depleted Junior B team win out in a warm sunny Pairc Naomh Bríd on Sunday morning. It wasnt until a few minutes before throw in did the lads know if they could field a team but a few old reliables including Aidan Whelan togged out in the green and gold again. The lads were trailing by 3 at half time after an unconvincing first half performance with Fethard racing into a 4 points to 1 lead. It wasn’t until 15 minutes gone that we had our second point before Fethard kept us at a three point distance up until half time.
The introduction of Lar Leacy at half time seemed to have the desired effect as we were level within 3 minutes, Tomas Murphy winning a pic out, soloing through to finish high to the net. We scored two quick fire points in the next two minutes before we widened the gap to 3 with only 5 gone in the second half after a blistering start. We had our second goal after 10 minutes when goal specialist James Dooley, drove through to finish to have us leading by 6, a complete turnaround. While the finial 15 minutes were nip and took, we never let the gap closer than 6 and Paul Murphy made sure of the points with only a couple of minutes to go when he soloed from the 21 to fire low to maintain a 100% record in the league.
