Minors march on

St. Brigids Blackwater 9-11 v 2-04 St. Patricks

The minors footballers finished off there group stage of this years championship with a large victory in a sunny but windy Pairc Naomh Brid. Even though the scoreline suggest differently, the game was very even for 20 minutes with the scores tied 1-2 a piece, Johnny O’Toole with the early goal after Pats opened the scoring playing with a strong wind. Ross Berry netted just before half time to leave the lads in the lead by 4. With the wind at their backs, the lads notched 4 quick points before Mossy started a goal glut with only 6 minutes gone. More goals followed from Thomas Donovan, Bryan Mooney, Ross x 2 and corner back James Cullen notched 2. The quarter final opponents are still not known but it will likely be September before this stage will be played. There is a also a few back fixtures to determine where we finish in the table.
