Well done to our u/16 girls this evening beating starlights by a score of 5-7 to 5-5. In the 1st half our girls didn't play great but still led by a point at the break, thanks mainly to the younger girls who came up from u/14, this was told to the girls at half time and the older girls were told to pick up there game. Fair play they started to perform more like the players we know they are. Scores were exchanged throughout the 2nd half but starlights led by a point going into the final minute, but we broke from the half way line through jane purcell who got within range before shooting for goal, though there goalkeeper got her hand to it she was unable to keep it out. This win qualifies us for the quarter finals which are not until 14th of august, Need all the girls to keep up with the training as it this is what helps get us working as a team. ... YOUR SPONSORSHIP IS NEEDED "The Big Loop" for Crumlin Children's Hospital sponsored Run PC Paul Cullen <firstname.lastname@example.org>
Reply| Today, 18:27 Hi,
I am looking for your help in raising €1000 for Crumlin Children's Hospital. On the 7th, 8th and 9th of July I am taking part in "The Big Loop" sponsored run which is organised by the Wexford Friends of Crumlin Hospital
My aim is to run a marathon (42.2 km) for each of the 3 days for a total of 126.6 km. Over the last 18 weeks I have been training for to take part in this event. So far I have run over 620 km since the middle of February with the longest training runs over last weekend where I ran 20km on Friday, 32km on Saturday and then the Wexford Marathon on Sunday giving me a total of 94.2 km over the 3 days, and by the time I have completed the event I will have run over 900 km in 22 weeks.
"The Big Loop" will start in Blackwater on Friday the 7th of July and the first day will see a group of 7 runners myself included running sections of a course that will take us to Waterford and then onto Kilkenny for a total of 122km for the first day. On Saturday the 8th of July we will start in Kilkenny and run to Carlow and then onto Glendalough for a total of 106 km. Sunday the final day will see us starting in Glendalough and running through Avoca, Arklow and Gorey and back to Blackwater for a distance of 81 km. Giving a total distance covered of 309km in 3 days
The course will be divided up, with different groups of runners competing different sections so as to make sure that the entire course is run each day. You can click on the following links to view the course for each day in Google maps Friday 7th July goo.gl/maps/2XTFTDgHaGU2 Saturday 8th July goo.gl/maps/cVkvyJdTHe92 Sunday 9th July goo.gl/maps/K3FBaCTMxXD2
