HWH Bunclody 1-16 v 2-12 Blackwater

There was just a point between the sides when the ref blew the final whistle in Bunclody on Tuesday evening in the rescheduled all county league game. Our lads started brightly and had the games first goal after Richard Blake hit an excellent cross field ball into Dean Wright who caught over his markers head and shot at the keeper who managed to save it but luckily Denis O’Brien was on hand though to smash home to leave the lads 3 points up. After the bright start Bunclody grew into the game and started to pick of scores and were level just before half time. They scored two further points  in the final two minutes to leave them up by 2 at the break. The second half finished the way of the first and the lads found themselves 5 down with just 11 minutes gone. We staged a good comeback though a Jake Nobbs free and a Dean Whelan point bringing it back to 3 before Blackwater had their second goal after the ball broke to Jake Nobbs who pulled first time to the net. HWH pulled ahead almost immediately before a well worked puc out allowed Topar to score and then Diarmuid Murphy put us into the lead. Nobbs put over a free a minute later and with us 2 points up with 3 minutes to go we had the win in our sights. HWH had different ideas and they took the lead when they scored a goal from a 21 yard free. Dean Whelan did manage to level it but Bunclody won the resulting puc out and a free to win the game. Next up is Oulart The Ballagh on Sunday evening at 7:30pm where the lads need a win and score difference to go our way to qualify for the league semi finals.
