Blackwater 3-20 v 0-11 Na Fianna
The junior b hurlers continued there winning ways by defeating Clonard in a sunny Blackwater pitch on Good Friday. The lads had the games first goal after a brilliant run from the corner from Mikey Byrne after 15 minute, taking on his man and slotting it nicely in the corner. We kept picking off points and Wayne had the games second goal after hitting the underside of bar after he got himself free. At the break we lead 2-12 to 0-05.
The second half was much the same as the first with a number of substitutions taking the sting out of the game. It wasn’t until there was minutes left that James Dooley got his first goal of the day after getting a good ball into him and turning his man to slot home. He had a second goal with the ball over the line a few minutes before this only for the umpire (Pad) to deny him the goal. The lads had a number of players missing including Brendan Murphy, Kevin Purcell inj, James Roche, Dean Whelan, Derek Harvey, Jake Nobbs and Kerill Sutton whenever he is finished holidaying.
